Servicers Navigate the Post-Pandemic World 2 days ago Home / Daily Dose / Do Forbearance Applicants Need Forbearance? Subscribe in Daily Dose, Featured, News, REO Print This Post According to a survey from LendingTree, most homeowners who have been approved for a mortgage forbearance may not need one. Of the 25% of homeowners surveyed that applied, 80% were approved for a forbearance. However, while the majority of people who applied were approved, only 5% said they wouldn’t have been able to pay their mortgage without forbearance. Another 72% of those who received forbearance reported feeling at least a little guilty about it.Those who applied for forbearance differed along with gender, generational, and income divides. In general, women were less likely to apply for forbearance than men, with 10.2% of women and 37.8% of men surveyed applying because of the coronavirus pandemic. While men were far more likely to apply than women, approval rates between the genders were similar, with 75% of women and 81% of men being approved.Younger homeowners were more likely to apply for a forbearance than older homeowners. About 36% of millennials and 35.1% of Gen Xers applied for forbearance. This is compared with just 3.5% of baby boomers. Of those who applied, 76% of millennials, 87.6% of Gen Xers and 76.9% of baby boomers were approved.Of all the generations, millennials and Gen Xers were more likely to say that they wanted a break from payments. Notably, 71% of respondents from these age groups said they could’ve made their payment but just wanted a pause. An average of only 4.3% of millennials and Gen Xers said they wouldn’t have been able to pay their mortgages without forbearance. While fewer baby boomers applied for forbearance, as older homeowners are more likely to own their homes outright or are closer to paying off their mortgages, those who did were in much greater need. In fact, 20% of baby boomers said they needed forbearance to avoid missing their monthly payment.”Regardless of whether or not you need one, getting a forbearance may still be a good strategy for managing your personal finances,” said Tendayi Kapfidze, VP, Chief Economist, LendingTree. “With uncertainty around how long the COVID-19 crisis will last and how deep its economic impact will be, preserving cash is a priority for many Americans. A mortgage forbearance temporarily removes mortgage payments from the equation. This pause can provide more wiggle room in homeowners’ budgets until the forbearance period ends.” Servicers Navigate the Post-Pandemic World 2 days ago Do Forbearance Applicants Need Forbearance? The Broward County Public School district is currently investigating a now viral video that shows a parent punching a student during a school basketball game. The incident reportedly happened last week at a school in Washington Park.According to the incident report, a parent of one of the basketball players ran onto the court during a brawl between the too teams and punched a student from the opposing team in the head. The student told reporters that she did not know the man who hit her nor had she ever seen him before. The game was between to traveling teams who were not affiliated with any specific schools, however, some of the students involved were said to be from Miramar High School and American Heritage.District officials have since made the decision to reassign their security specialist Bennett Wyche, to a position that does not deal with students, though it is unclear what role he played in the fight.Authorities are also currently investigating the parent who attacked the student. While charges have not yet been filed, officials say charges are still a possibility.
To The Editor:With the holiday season in full swing and the constant bombardment on television related to the Republican Presidential Nomination process I have made a decision. I am throwing my wholehearted support behind Former Speaker Newt Gingrich. I know, I know, some of you readers may be scratching your heads why, but before you totally dismiss this commentary, check out his ideas located on his website and his new 21st Century Contract with America.I am no political pundit and I cannot quote statistics but what I can say is that while Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House, the greatest growth our country has seen in decades existed including having a surplus instead of deficits. In my personal life, as well as running a small business, the reality of sound fiscal practices dictate you can not spend more than you take in, it’s that simple. Speaker Gingrich’s plan is to drastically reduce the size of government by eliminating unnecessary agencies, departments and “czars”, pass a balanced budget amendment, approve the Keystone Pipeline, and the list goes on, including “Day One” Executive Orders and a multitude of legislative proposals. Sure, there is a lot of rhetoric like every other politician and Speaker Gingrich has been a member of the establishment, but the fact remains it is going to take a Washington insider to get this country moving forward again. This need for leadership and legislative success is evident, given the President’s inability to get Congress on the same page or at least move them in a positive direction. Newt Gingrich is the only candidate (including the President) with a record of accomplishments during a great time of prosperity for our country. Newt Gingrich is a historian known for his great intellect and ideas. I, too, majored in history and we all know that unless things change we are bound to repeat the same mistakes over and over.I voted for President Obama. I believed in his message and his sincerity and his desire to make a change for the better. I am glad I voted for President Obama. I think that was the only sound decision for me and this country at the time. I believe voting for President Obama again would be a mistake and not a good decision for me or our country. Newt Gingrich, in my opinion, is the whole package: he has the intellect, the knowhow, and the inside experience to get Congress working again to put this country back on top where it belongs.I am proud to be an American. I am tired of being disgruntled. I am tired of watching the news about people protesting, being unemployed and jobs being outsourced. It is time that we harness what made this country great, our people unified as a nation, making a difference at home and in our communities, and eventually the world. More importantly, each and every generation prospering and doing better than the last. I ask you to consider Newt Gingrich. Thank you and God Bless America. Jude R. FlorioOcean Grove

Social media monitoring and analytics firm Sysomos took a closer look at this data today. While Interbrand bases its list on criteria such as financial data, international scope and economic value added, Sysomos decided to re-evaluate the top 20 brands by their social media presence on blogs, forums and news sites. Sysomos did not include mentions on Twitter in this study. This obviously led to major changes to Interbrand’s list. Google, which placed only 7th on the Top 100 Brands list, ranks 1st when it comes to social media mentions in 2009, while Coca-Cola, the #1 brand on the Interbrand list, ranks only 11th on Sysomos’ list.Interbrand’s ranking puts Coca Cola, IBM and Microsoft in the top 3, while the top 3 brands with the most social media mentions according to Sysomos are Google, Apple and Microsoft. Fastest Growing Brand: GilletteAmong the top 20 brands, Gillette managed to become the fastest-growing brand in social media over the last two months. We wondered if the fact that the New England Patriots play in Gillette Stadium is a factor here, but Sysomos told us that most of the mentions were generated by Gillette’s campaign for its new Fusion razors. Strangely, though, 13 brands in Sysomos’ top 20 saw their social media mentions drop in the last two months. Car manufacturers like BMW (-31%), Honda (-25%) and Toyota (-24%) saw the largest declines, though even Google registered a 13.4% drop. Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic… Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting Sentiment AnalysisThe fact that a company was mentioned often on social media sites like Twitter, however, doesn’t really tell us a lot about how exactly people interacted with this brand. To deal with this, Sysomos also did a sentiment analysis of all the mentions of these 20 companies. Here, we see some interesting changes to the list. Samsung, for example, comes out on top here, followed by Nokia, Intel, IBM and Cisco. The social media mentions of McDonald’s, Marlboro and Toyota, however, were generally negative. According to another survey by PR firm Wildfire on behalf of Tealeaf that was published yesterday, 74% of all British adults said that negative comments about a product or brand negatively influence the likelihood that they would want to do business with this company. 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market
Are you getting ready to record a music video? Try out any these four effects to add some style and texture to your production.Music videos are some of my favorite projects to work on. There’s so much room for creative expression, visual storytelling, and inventive camera shots. Sometimes, though, music videos can get pretty stale. It’s the same garage rock band playing in a giant empty warehouse — or a SoundCloud rapper throwing stacks out of a fresh new Benz. So, why not approach your music video with some offbeat techniques to make yours stand out? 1. Half-Speed RecordingDo you remember all of those jams in the ’90s that featured some dude on a beach singing in a white linen shirt with the wind blowing through his hair? Most of those videos appeared to be in slow motion, but the singer seemed to stay in sync with the normal timed track. This is the half-speed recording trick. To pull off this effect, take your song and double the speed in Adobe Audition. Then, record the video in 48fps and lip-sync to the sped-up song. Now when you take it into Premiere during editing, all you have to do is slow the footage down to 50 percent and it will sync up with the original timing.2. Double-Speed RecordingThe double-speed effect is basically the exact opposite of the half-speed effect. This is where the singer appears to be moving in normal speed, but everything around him is moving at double time. To record this effect, reverse the half-speed instructions; slow down your song by 200 percent, and record your artist lip-syncing to the slowed-down track. Now, once you bring it into Premiere, slow down the footage by 50 percent, and it will sync up.3. Reverse RecordingIf you have ever seen the music video for “The Scientist” by Coldplay, you know the effect we’re talking about here. This is where your footage is playing in reverse, but your subject seems to be synced with the lyrics. So take your song and reverse it in Audition. It’s going to sound weird, and the lyrics won’t make any sense anymore, but to sync properly, you need to try and write down phonetically what lyrics you might be hearing. Once you’ve listened to the reversed track enough, you’ll be able to lip-sync to these nonsense words (as best as you can). Record the video with some cool effects that will look good backwards, like things blowing up or being thrown into the air. Once you’ve finished the recording, all you have to do is reverse the clip in Premiere to get your desired effect. (Note: it takes quite a bit of practice to get the reversed lyrics memorized, so plan to spend some time on it.)4. Old-School Film LookA favorite of indie bands and hipsters alike, the old school film effect is a music video classic. It’s an interpretation of the old home movies recorded on 8mm film that gives your video a home-grown nostalgic feel. This effect doesn’t have any special recording needs, so just record a synced video with the normal audio track.Bring it into Premiere, and in the effects tab, add the Posterize Time effect to your clip. This is going to lower your clip’s frame rate. in the settings, lower the frame rate to about 8fps to get a stop-motion type feel. For a more detailed film look, you can add a film grain on top.
